The Coolest Corduroy Looks To Wear This Autumn

If you don’t know, get to know: corduroy is this season’s trending fabric that we can’t get enough of. Interested? Take a look at the winning corduroy styles below…

One of autumn winter’s warmest styles, we’re seeing corduroy get more popular by the minute – just as it deserves. Coats, jackets, shirts and trousers, this 70s vibe fabric is making waves once more.

We’ve put together a few complete outfits featuring different corduroy styles so that you can get some inspiration for your own wardrobe…

What Is Corduroy?

Just so we’re all on the same page, corduroy is the name of a man-made fabric made with a blend of cotton and rayon or polyester. It’s a really soft, woven and fairly rigid fabric (more rigid than cotton but less so than denim) that has the same fuzzy texture as velvet. You always find corduroy in a corded texture, like rows of raises lines. It makes great jackets, shirts and trousers, and it’s particularly popular during the colder seasons due to its warm nature. In summer, we simply love it.

The Corduroy Shirt

You can’t beat a classic corduroy shirt – it’s the most versatile piece going. You can wear yours on its own buttoned up or open, layered over a T-shirt. For this look, we’ve kept it dark and monochrome for an easy smart-casual vibe.

Partnered with a coordinated classic grey T-shirt, some slim black jeans and a pair of Chelsea boots (which you can easily swap out for trainers), this outfit is perfect for any occasion. If you want to add some colour, opt for a different coloured corduroy shirt – we have options!

The Corduroy Jacket

Corduroy really is a warm material, making it the perfect option for an autumn-winter casual jacket – it means you can leave the heavy overcoats and puffers behind for a more ‘grab-it-and-go’ kind of style (that being said, we also sell corduroy puffers… wink, wink).

For this look, we’ve gone for a corduroy tan Harrington jacket with a borg collar. We’ve paired this with a white T-shirt and a pair of slim fit, blue wash jeans. Any jean style would look just as good with this combo, so check out all our different jean fits and see if there are any new styles you like the look of. Finish the outfit with a pair of trainers and you’re good to go.

Corduroy Loungewear

Just when you thought corduroy couldn’t get any better, we’ve only gone and dropped the comfiest loungewear styles. Check out this corduroy pocket sweatshirt – the most luxe sweat you can get your hands on this season.

We’ve styled the corduroy sweatshirt with one of the corduroy puffers that we mentioned above (they just too good not to show you). Together with some cream joggers and trainers, you’ve got the ultimate elevated monochrome loungewear look, just like that.

Corduroy Trousers

No wardrobe is complete without a pair of corduroy trousers. Black, khaki and even stone, our corduroy trousers can be dressed up or dressed down with ease.

Take a look at the below outfit to see just how easy it is to style these trousers – a simple jumper and a pair of chunky brogues is all it takes. You can also switch up the brogues for a pair of boots of trainers if you so wish.
